AboutWelcome to my photography website! Let me share a little bit about myself and my journey behind the lens.
As a young girl growing up on Air Force bases around the world, I developed a passion for journaling and photography. Armed with my trusty Kodak "point & shoot" camera, I would document my travels and imagine myself as a National Geographic photographer on assignment. Although the fantasy of joining NatGeo didn't become a reality, my love and curiosity for photography remained. The only difference now is that I have a collection of Nikon cameras, and some pretty cool pro gear in my arsenal. For the past 14 years, I’ve worked as a professional photographer in Southern California. I originally moved to LA from Washington DC to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, with a focus on television broadcasting. It didn't take long to discover that not only video production, but photography as well was truly a calling. It allows me to tell stories through images, embracing both creativity and craftsmanship while enjoying the freedom of working independently. |
During my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work as a portrait photographer for various companies and brands. This experience has taught me accountability and provided me with valuable learning opportunities alongside talented photographers. While I enjoy capturing a wide range of subjects, I have a particular affinity for nature and wedding photography. I believe that these two realms are intimately connected, as nature embodies harmony and beauty, mirroring the essence of a relationship on a couple's special day. Photographing weddings is truly a remarkable privilege, as I get to capture unforgettable moments that'll be cherished forever. While many aspects of a wedding day fade away, it's the photograph that endures, preserving memories that'll last a lifetime.
My passion for photography extends beyond professional endeavors. I began volunteering as the lead photographer at an animal shelter in Downtown LA, where I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of a single photograph. A gentleman traveled all the way from Ohio to adopt a dog he had seen on the shelter's website, and it was then that I realized the profound impact that an image can truly have. It's the little things that make the biggest difference in someone’s life. When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me enjoying the great outdoors, composing music, or tending to my garden. I currently reside in Pasadena with my faithful companion, a little black dog named “Skillet”. So, thanks for visiting my website, and I hope you enjoy exploring my portfolio as much as I've enjoyed capturing these moments through my lens. |
